The 9 Symphonies by Beethoven are a towering monument in the history of Western Classical music. Beethoven being Beethoven, each of them pushes at the boundaries of what was accepted at the time. With each symphony, Beethoven explored new musical territories combining his love for nature, his humanist ideals and musical his genius into these amazing pieces of music.

Each week we will explore one of the Beethoven symphonies. Structure, orchestration, themes and harmonies as well as context.
